Hung Duong

an art writer, translator, and occasional curator with an emphasis on Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Entering the Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) art scene in 2016, I have worked at various capacities before settling down with the textual art in 2021.

While based in Saigon, my writing scope covers the whole region, including exhibition reviews, dialogical essays, and analytical reflections on the expansive breadth of Southeast Asian contemporary visual art. I have published extensively with international magazines (artforum, Art Review, Art Asia Pacific) and regional platforms (Mekong Review, Art & Market).

As someone who is betrothed to this region, I myself am also a learner. Through my writing, I hope to expand my vision, gain more knowledge, and connect with friends who share my passions. Whether you are an artist, an academic researcher, a curator, a gallerist, a collector, another writer, or simply a novice with keen interests in reading more about Southeast Asian contemporary art and artists, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.
