Buen Calubayan

Buen Calubayan (b. 1980, Manila) researches and makes art about the construction of world views through landscape theory, biography work, museology, Steiner pedagogy, among other approaches. His installations of paintings, diagrams, timelines, and archival works are attempts to map out an encompassing world picture and render of the Philippine landscape sensible.His works have been shown at the UP Vargas Museum, Quezon City (2023); Blanc Gallery, Quezon City (2023); Mind Set Art Center, Taipei (2020); Arario Gallery Ryse Hotel, Seoul (2019); HKW, Berlin (2017); Ateneo Art Gallery, Quezon City (2015); and La Trobe VAC, Bendigo, Australia (2014). His recent residencies include Acts of Life organized by NTU CCA Singapore and MCAD Manila, commissioned by the Goethe-Institut (2018-19) and NTU CCA Singapore (2017).
