Wantanee Siripattananuntakul is a Thai artist based in Thailand. In 1998, she received her B.F.A. in Sculpture from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University, Bangkok. She then studied at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen in Germany, where she became a Meisterschüler under Prof. Jean-François Guiton. Her multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, video, installation, and performance, exploring social, political, and economic inequality themes. Wantanee’s work critically investigates the intersections of human and non-human communication, economic disparity, and the fragility of existence, engaging a broad audience with its conceptual depth. She has exhibited internationally, with notable solo exhibitions in Thailand and abroad, including her recent solo show at Frieze London 2023. She also participated in the Thailand Biennale, where her work addressed global concerns through local narratives. In 2024, she will take part in artist residencies in Paris. Her thought-provoking, globally relevant work continues to challenge and inspire, resonating across cultures and societies.
